There are several Recreational Opportunities in the Town of Mount Pleasant. The Town maintains McAllister Park, located on Park Drive behind Town Hall, and the Mount Pleasant Mini Park, located on North Drive. In addition, there are several fields and facilities operated by local churches and schools. Cabarrus County also operates the Mount Pleasant Senior Center that provides a wide range of activities for Adults over 55.
Sport Leagues in Mount Pleasant are managed by local nonprofit organizations and Cabarrus County.

Buffalo Creek Preserve is a 400 acre tract of land in the Town of Mount Pleasant that is owned by the Catawba Lands Conservancy. The land was donated to the Catawba Lands Conservancy by BB&T in 2011, and upon acquisition, the land was placed in a permanent conservation easement.
